Functional Dry Needling (FDN)

Athletico physiotherapist Richa has received advanced postgraduate training in the performance of Functional Dry Needling. Richa has also been trained in the unique techniques involved in performing Dry Needling in the Pelvic Floor region by Specialists in the US.

Dry needling involves the penetration of Tight Muscle Trigger Points with a sterile needle in order to provide quick and effective relief from your symptoms. Dry needling is a technique similar to Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) where an acupuncture needle is used to relax tight muscles and stimulate the healing of over sensitive nerves. Its called “dry” because nothing is injected into the body.

Your Athletico physiotherapist will perform a thorough examination of your condition to determine if you might be a candidate for FDN.

Athletico physiotherapists are well-trained a qualified in performing Dry Needling and are rostered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario to perform the Controlled Act of Dry Needling in the Province of Ontario
